This year’s speaker is Randall Munroe, the author of the New York Times bestseller What If?, the science question-and-answer blog What If?, and the popular webcomic xkcd. In 2006, he left a job building robots at NASA to draw comics on the Internet full-time. His forthcoming book Thing Explainer will be published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in November.
Munroe will be interviewed by 826 Boston students and esteemed media personality Christopher Lydon. Previously a journalist for The New York Times and founding producer and host of the long-running radio program, The Connection, Lydon currently hosts Open Source, which airs on WBUR.
