On Feb. 2, after-school students and their families gathered to celebrate the release of Pitch Quiet: Stories of Traps and Escapes. The students worked with tutors for five months to write and revise these truly original stories. The party included reading of student work by special guests City Councilor Matt O’Malley, Education Director April Wang, and tutors Levi Rubeck and Cyrus Thompson. As always, the  prestigious Tandy Awards were presented to winning authors, but trap-ridden pizza boxes were a new addition to the festivities. More than 100 people turned out to support these talented young authors.

Limited quantities of the book feature a special pop-up, laser-cut cover, an ingenious design by our Program Manager Karen Sama. Pick up a copy now in our store.
