Bio: Lindsey Plait
A 2006 graduate of the Boston University School of Education, 826 Program Director Lindsey Plait returns to Boston after teaching high school English in Atlanta and Philadelphia. In Philadelphia, she worked with an exceptional faculty to open The Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush, a public magnet school for visual and performing arts. She is passionate about teaching students to flex creative and inquisitive muscles in academic settings and fostering cleverness, passion, and humor. Lindsey also enjoys studying the intersections between literature and other subjects, and has planned and co-taught with teachers of various subjects, including history, photography, graphic arts, and fine arts. At home, she is happiest on a couch with a dog or in the kitchen with chocolate. In others' homes, she covertly peeks at their bookshelves, building a list of coveted books that will certainly outlast the century. She has a soft spot for pie, furry creatures, white t-shirts (which do not stand up to the aforementioned beasts). She believes that chocolate is, indeed, the answer (except when the answer is 42).
